As i had writen before, we are a Datsun community. This one has the big bore [77mm] long stroke [A14 crank] A12 engine. [1434cc] See engine shot. The Boss' coupe is in the background
This engine was built from whatever was laying around the workshop floor. The four carbs are from a Yamaha FJ1200 engine & it runs amazingly well. This one is obviously a 1200 engine with it's foward mounted distributor, so no problems with instalation. The air filter is a readily available Mazda item, & like 2332 owners engine, there is no ported vacuum for the distributor. This is being addressed. The cam was dragged from the same pile of leftover bits from race & stock engines as was the A14 / A15 oval port head. It idles a bit lumpy, but runs hard. It uses a leftover 1200GX exhaust manifold too.
This is the fuel inflicted A15 in the Boss' coupe. It's not only hard to catch, but hard to kill too. Since fitting the harmonic balancer, reliability has improved enormously
