Which tyre would you have used Dodgeman 2004/7/18 15:38 Tell a friend 2307 6 0.00 (0 votes)
The coupe belonged to Errol [not Feral] in Coffs Harbour. He acted first, then thought later when buying tyres. Yes, they rubbed on the footwell,... & everything else. |

Re: Which tyre would you have used I forget what size the coupe on the left had, but mine are 185x60x13 Pirelli P6's. They were affordable, they touched nothing, & stuck like s##t to a blanket.
The front wheels were 5" wide, while the rears were 5-1/2"
Later on i lowered the front an inch or more.

Re: Which tyre would you have used The wheels were made for me by Chris Neale of Neale wheels in Sydney. They were simply some of his flame cut centers [no plasma back then] & some 5" wide steel rims. When i got my mags these ones went on my 1200 ute & went with it when it was sold.

Re: Which tyre would you have used I use 185 60 13 on 6" rims front on my 1000 coupe. Had to roll guards and cut alittle from the lower corner front to get turning circle.

Re: Which tyre would you have used You have the right tyres on the front, but it would seem that a narrower rim would have avoided some of your problems. I think that the rears were 185x70x13 at the time.[maybee 195's] I always kept the fronts the same size, but i went to 205x60x13's on the rear.
I did some pretty daring [read "stupid"] things in this car, but those Pirelli P6's never let me down,...ever. They haven't made them for years, but i still have a full set, unused, brand new, so i will check the hardness & if they are still nice & soft, i'l use them.
