It's not the best photo but I finally got around to painting my struts. 1981 Stanza SSS Struts with 45mm removed from the tops to give more clearance. (I'll post a photo of the changes if anyones interested). Adjustable Koni inserts. Stanza rotors and Girlock callipers. Braided lines went in after the photo...yet to do steel lines....maybe this week if it warms up.

we (ppl in barbados) put the caliper in front so it doesnt hit the steering when the pitman arm is shortened for quicker steering.

that is just way too clean!

why'd you swap the struts around to put the calipers out in front?

 Re: Stanza Struts
Only put them in that way testing to see which way was best to run them. The stainless braided lines seem to run better with the callipers in front.

Are there any benefits / detriments to running them in front or conversely at the rear..???

I know either way they don't foul on anything...so is it just a matter of personal preference or is there a benefit to running them at the rear.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers ..Dan.

Hi dan, i dont think it really matters which way the calipers face fowards or backwards, when i put 240k struts in my 1600 i had to run them forwards like you have because the caliper fouled on the steering arm but then the caliper kept coming loose even after being torqued down, loctite fixed that though.
Cheers Sean,

p.s. nice an clean under there.

Hey Sean

Thanks for the advice. I got the impression from reading some of the tech articles that they would only go in one way, but they fit both ways so I figured it might just come down to personal preference.

It's only clean underneath because it's yet to come out of the shed. It'll get there though.
