I was joking about the damage it could do.
I'm quite attatched to my testicles so I will be making sure I have sufficient protection around the clutch assy.

All LHD 1200 (Germany, Portugal, Canada, etc.) use a hydraulic clutch I believe so the question is big. With a standard Datsun transmission, LHD and RHD use the same gearbox except:
* The LH hole is cut out (all RHD gearbox have the casting outline for this)
* It uses a different release lever (release bearing is the same)
* A slave cylinder is bolted on

So probably the Dellow bell can be treated the same:
* Cut hole in appropriate location
* Drill & tap a boss for the slave cylinder. You could build up a boss with JB-Weld, the tap the threads into the case. I think this would be strong enough
* RHD & LHD release levers use the same ball stud inside the bellhousing so no worries there

You are right on the money DD the aus Dellow bell housing is only made for mechanical cluch.And you are right 5 speeds are dime a dozen in USA.Us poor aussies only got the 4 speeds and other crap yuo guys didn't want haha.

Mines being used in a race car so no idea on the orignal hole position. Since my gearbox is behind me and the flywheel is level with my nuts.

Don't you worry about your flywheel exploding, or the clutch pressure plate exploding..I wouldn't like my nuts in line with those bits...

Thats the reason why I had an alloy one made up rather than lightening a cast unit.
I have an explosion/scatter sheild also which is quite thick and heavy just in case.

Besdies how much damage could a clutch assy doing 9500 rpm do ????

I have the 3T toyota alloy split case witht e dellow bellhousing and the wick is about 1.5" shorter then the original.

I've seen flywheels explode on the quarter mile @80+ mph, The car had both it's front brake lines sheered off by the flying pieces. It was a mazda..but still. He must have had a passion for handbrake turns, and his handbrake worked properly. It really turned into an E-brake. Brown underpants stuff..

One thing it doesn't mention is how scatter-resistant the Dellow housing is. US drag racing associations require a "scatter-shield" bell or a "blanket" when the car gets to a certain speed. The blanket will catch the shattering pieces before they cut brake lines or somebody's body.

Ive heard similar horror stories that were true. Crap a shatter or scatter blanket would be wise. Always use new rod bolts and dont let some lazy mechanic install your machined flywheel and clutch.
