Got a bit sideways at the Deep River autocross in May 2006. Thinks were a bit damp that day...

I'll try and get more pics up.

At the time of this event back in May, the car had a mostly stock A12 and an automatic tranny. The changes on the engine are a re-curved electronic distrubutor from an A15, intake port work opening up the head and manifold to match the gasket, and some re-jetting of the stock carb.

Now the engine is the same but the car has a 60 series 5 speed from a 1981 B310.

Did you have to avoid the witches hat as it jumped out in front of you

Well, kind of... if you consider the side of the car as the front...

Took out that cone with the drivers door. Just a bit loose that day.

The Deep River event was the first time since 1980 that I was not able to put in a clean run (with 5 tries no less). Something about starting to laugh at how loose the car was in the middle of the run.

Deep River, WA? You gotta be kidding. There's nothing there but a river...Was it an autocross for logging trucks?

I lived in Pacific County for 12 years and never heard of an autocross...my how times change.

That was full lock! And it wasn't enough to pull it off...

Nope, I've not been able to get in touch with the photographer. He was taking lots of pictures during the event.

More pictures (mostly Subaru's) from the NWAA Ocean Run 3 autocross

Nope, not an autocross for logging trucks but an autocross in a logging truck parking lot

The events are held at the equipment parking lot at mile post 12 on Hwy. 4 right at the 90 degree corner on Hwy. 4.

North West Autosports Association is the club putting on the events here. There was a race at Deep River 2 weeks ago and another race this comming Sunday, also at Deep River.

If you can get away Sunday come on down. NWAA is a small club that is there for the fun of racing. Very laid back group.
