If you look closely you will see a divider to seperate the primary from the secondarys. Bottom is primary and has approx 30% of the volume. Theory goes that when you are driving on the primarys throttle response will be increased as only the lower 30% of the manifold will be used until the secondaries open. |

But a dual-plane can have a better torque curve, and make more HP at part throttle. Also the carburetor needs to be setup right.
How did you run a 4-bbl carb on your stock manifold? Adapter plate?
