Re: Motor too far forward? 2 can the engine go down at all? i know that was the problem with unfams one, it was mounted too high and further back than normal so the clutch fork was hitting the tunnel

Re: Motor too far forward? 2 The newer engines mount about 1" too high, compared to the 1967-1973 engine.
Ideally you want to modify the engine-mount bracket to lower it down. Cut and weld, or slot the brackets.
But then the Datsun 1000 transmission didn't have a clutch fork, did it?
