Damnnn.... one of this would look so nice under my hood!ehehe

i believe this were only sold in Japan..

I few days ago I was re-reading some old magazines and saw something curious... there was a 1200 with a 13XX cc with OHC, it's probable that was a cross flow engine.. don't know!

They are fast little blighters as well.

That shot from Pitroad says it is an A12 cross flow engine from a Cherry X!-R used in the Fuji speedway Victory 200 race in 1973.

Currently about 2,000,000 Yen.
($28000 Oz) in Japan. There was one for sale a few months ago at an auction house.

Could this be the mystery cross flow head in that conventional engine shot that looked like it could be OHC ???????

EDIT Yes!!!!!! It is the mystery engine from the X1-R just mounted north south instead of east west.

.
That engine has been bugging me for months now.

At last Sleeeeeeeeeeeep

Hubba Hubba, that thing belongs in a 1000. Since my coupe has a whopping advertised 77lb [35kg] weight saving over a 1200 coupe, it would be whole miliseconds quicker over the quarter mile.
Gotta get your performance priorities right.

On a serious note, it really belongs in a classic little Datsun, but at $28,000, its worth many times the new purchase price of even a 1200GX. OUCH!

This engine is a pushrod hemi crossflow 100%!!!

No OHC belt or chain can fit or appears on the 2 photos. You can tell there is no provisions for the belt or chain.

Its like the yota 2t or renault 807.

The repco crossflow heads for the holden grey motors was still pushrod as well. Done with funny angled and pivoted pushrods.

No way Jose', that head needs to be in a 'normal' car with rear drive.
Ditch the funny lay-flat distributor, substitute modern EFI for the race induction to allow fitment in a right drive normal car, & allow the electronics to work the sparks.
It is, in the end, just a replacement pushrod head, but a VERY nice one at that. This design has seen it's best days on the track & should spend the rest of its retirement in a KB10 street car just struttin' its stuff & being admired by all, particularly me, just the way nature intended.
