Re: 200HP A15 i have a brace on my rally-car, not sure if it makes a diffrence, but my brother put one on his sprinter after he found going over jumps (rallying) was making his car skinnier at the front, the strut towers were folding inward so i guess it makes it stiffer if it's possible for the struts to fold in, i should pretty up the one i have and put it in my road car

Re: 200HP A15 I have tried it at the racetrack with and without the brace fitted, and you can feel the difference on sticky tyres. On road tyres I very much doubt if there is any benefit - you simply can't generate enough lateral load.
I don't notice a change in balance, but the car feels slightly more responsive, and precise. Makes it easier to place the car consistently, and just generally provides more feel and feedback from the chassis. Very hard thing to explain in words...
I made mine for about $35 - and $30 of that was getting the strut tops water cut to the spec I provided the local metal fab shop.

Re: 200HP A15 Jeff Taylor told me that after every 2nd or so events they replace the double valve springs in their engines with new ones. So going by that, it tells me their engines are always being refreshed.

Re: 200HP A15 I wonder how much John has on the coupe. I bet heaps as it one very well sorted 1200. I feel with a slight detune say 180hp and keeping revs under 8000rpm engine life would be greatly improved. The throttle bodies are actually quad 50mm !!!!! it sounds like a bit of a pig at idle but as the revs pic up it sound soo sweet. Im pretty sure he is running a quaife 5 speed and that very different rear end Andrew

Re: 200HP A15 Yep its a very special and well sorted 1200. That rear end has a porsche turbo centre allowing the live axle to have 1 degree camber. But with his new springs, the rear camber is pretty much unnecessary...
