These are the factory specs for flywheel weight reduction. Hopefully this will be a help to some. It will still have enough strength for competition use.
The picture should be big enough to copy to a file in your computer so that you can use it later.

Can you please elaborate on this as I don't understand.Sorry for sounding stupid, but I even asked my friend who is a architect and he also is confused as to where to end the cutting procedure when you come closer to the centre of the flywheel.

Re: Factory Flywheel Weight reduction specs
Camshaft specs, & diagrams, then more cam stuff along with valve spring retainer & rocker details, followed by valve specifications with dimentioned diagrams.

Have another look at the picture & you can see some of the stuff on the other side of this page.

The standard B110 flywheel [Pt. No. 12310-H1000] should weigh 9.7 Killergrammes, while the Race Option flywheel [Pt. No. 12310-H2310] comes in at 6.4 Killergrammes
I do not know the weight of a flywheel that has been modified as per the illustration.

I have some really bad photocopies of the same book. It has some awesome stuff for tricking out a12s, and lots of part numbers for parts that probably arent availble any longer.

The book is called
"Datsun B110 Competition Tune-Up Manual" & it was published by the Nissan Motor C. of Tokyo Japan in 1974.

I guess I can post up more stuff, & have already. Are you looking for something specific?
Here's some links.

@datto1000wagon
Can you please email me the pictures of where it was cut on the flywheel.I am a little confused by the picture posted by Dodgeman.Excuse my stupidity, but I don't want to mess up my spare, stock A12 flywheel when taking this in to be done.OR, can I just take the picture that Dodgeman posted and my flywheel to a engineering shop and they will know exactly where and how much to cut?

Re: Factory Flywheel Weight reduction specs
I'm sure a machinist would understand the factory diagram.

But the photos really helped me understand exactly where to cut. Those two cuts take of 1/3 of the weight.

Thanks Dman and D1kWagon!

Re: Factory Flywheel Weight reduction specs
Hi guys
I may sound very stupid but I examined this picture over the weekend.I can figure out how much to cut and where to start, except on the inner radius of the hatched part.Lets say I start cutting it from the outside of the flywheel inwards to the centre, how do I know where to stop?
There is'nt a indication of where to stop as you go inwards when cutting. Can someone assist me.Why I need to know this is for curiousity's sake and also to check that the mechinist has done the job right.Don't what the flywheel to fly apart when installed.

What do you mean? Does the hatched part start 70mm from the centre and then go upwards to the outside?
The outside is easy to figure where to start, but I don't know when to stop as you get closer to the centre of the flywheel when cutting inwards. You know, there where the 17R is standing.Or is the 17R the thickness. How do they measure it?

Re: Factory Flywheel Weight reduction specs
Sort of.This I understand. The problem is, lets say I start cutting the disc from the outside and it moves the cutter from the outside radius of the flywheel towards the inside radius of the flywheel(from the top 5R towards the 17R part of the diagram). How will I know when to stop because it does'nt give me a radius indication for example like the 230dia (or 240.48 dia)as to where to stop.
