A lot of welding has been done to this frontal area of the car & i swear, I can feel just how much tighter the whole thing is.
Some of the welding will now also prevent water ingress into various chassis cavities, minimising the possibility of rusting in the future.

From factory they are spot welded on both 1000's and 1200's, but its not hard to nut and bolt it on if you cant get hold of a welder.

Much as i love them, the 1000's are not the strongest thing in the world. They were built to a price & most everything was made good enough to do the job. But only just good enough. We have welded many things that were just held in place with a few spot welds, including the front radius arm brackets. I held it in one top corner yesterday & gave it a good shake. Not the slightest sign of movement anywhere. I did the same with my old sedan about an hour later. There was a diference that i swear I could feel. It just didn't feel so solid.
