It arrived today... fair bit of rust, but everything's there so that's important as rust repair in Okinawa can be performed blindfolded. It was a blast to drive home from the port... most people haven't seen one of these in the flesh in a long time.

Looking good. It looks much better in this photo than it did in the Yahoo ones. A trip to the chrome platers will fix the bumper problem, along with any other brightwork problems, & yes, i agree, the painted bumpers just don't suit it.
Congratulations.

Totally agree with Dodgeman.

It looks much better in your photos. It looked like the sills were full of rust repairs in the Ebay photos.

Good one for sure.

Run some paintstripper over the bumpers before organising any re-chroming. Might be painted over good chrome.

Oh there's plenty of rust... just doesn't show in the photo. I'll have to cut out most of the front of the hood and re-make it, the bottoms of both fenders as well... I'll have to reskin the doors and fab the lower half of the radiator support as well. The rear quarters are in good shape as is the trunk and most of the floorboards. Engine bay isn't too bad either. More pics today (sorry 1200 owners) hey sidedraught... where's your pics anyway?

I need some chrome bumpers and new headlight trim as well as some other trim items for the outside. The interior is excellent for 35 years old... everything appears to work and it's all in great shape. Engine runs like a sewing machine... have to check the tach at stoplights to see if it's still running LOL. Appears to have been slightly restored but I'll do a much better job.

wow, looks nice as is. Though putting the chrome back to it is a good idea.

Hy. Excelent car, I like it 100%. I read about the chromes, I am not a fan of chromes, never did like them. Of course, respect other's tastes, just not for me.
I think your car needs no chromes, it is perfect like that, sport look,I would paint the windshiel wipers blck, and the window weather rubber parts, you can paint the plated stripes black, or, as in the US(not sure about in your nation) at a local auto parts place, you can get a very good quality black tape, designed for this purpose, to cover that old plated trim on the rubber weather strips.
I love it like that, you do not need chromes. As it is, it means business.
