photo album of engine swap

heres what ive got under my hood now !
i just drove home 4 hours with this new engine and it made it no problems! only started it first time today.

edit:

LAGWAGON - click on 'more photos from evilsim' to find photos of ported and matched head and combustion chamber work. webers not brand new but rebuilt and pre-used by another oval port engine . goodies include 30/70 (i think) cam, enlarged valves, bored to ~1550cc, N12 pulsar elec dissy w/modified vanette dissy plate, 55amp alternator, new subaru coil (same as N12 one), solid state fuel pump (in engine bay as some told me i couldnt, the proof is in the pudding), crap 4-2-1 extractors which needed to be modified to sit next to inlet manifold.. Expenses i do not yet know - i will get some bills in the mail soon.. i cant assume anything but both of the blokes i owe money too will hopefully regard me as a mate, so the rates should be just right. the reconditioner Andrew called me tonight (still at work at 8:45 as usual) to ask how it all went. good blokes who give a shiznit about their work. i would recommend em to anyone. thanks for the proper job thing ; its my first engine swap but it went sweetly in the end. cant wait to buy another 1200.
i basically rented a corner in a carby-tuner's workshop and used his dolly and his skills. no way i could have done much without help.

TERETONGA - i wasnt sure what colour to paint it so i went with the blue, although ill be taking the engine out when the body gets done and i can repaint it then. since u handed me the engine, i can paint it yeller for you. also ill b able to paint all the other lil bits too eg alternator bracket. which incidentally is from my 200B ex rallycar, with a hot L20 in and a red block

looks very nicely done, i love a proper job. what did the rebuild involve and what goodies are on the motor? is that head ported or just clean and are they brand new webers? was it an expensive upgrade?

I can't believe you didn't retain the original yellow paint on the A15!! Congratulations - you've done a fantastic job and learned a lot in the process. Wish I was still in Sydders to hear her run. Are you going to hit a dyno at some point?
