That would have been nice, but was quite a bit more costly than the Rollmaster kit

Can you buy the Rollmaster crank sprocket separately?

Like you, i have a Feral cam sprocket. If this crank sprocket can be bought separately, then i'm in.

So what specs are you guys degreeing your cams to? Mine's installed straight up but my cam sprocket is adjustable, only I have to remove it to adjust (it's got a bunch of holes for the cam pin instead of just one)

 Re: Rollmaster camgears
I have used Rollmaster kits and think they are great. They do have a problem with sprocket tooth wear due to the steel being very soft. This is why I started doing my sprockets.
The problem could possibly be solved by nitriding?

So whats the life expectancy off this setup then?

This looks to be really good stuff & i'm jealous as hell, but they are not gears, they are sprockets.
Gears mesh directly with each other, like in your GEARbox, & sprockets are used to drive, or be driven by, chains.

So you look to have a realy nice camshaft drive kit, made up of sprockets & chain.

Thanks Dodgeman we can always rely on you , Yes this is the mid point of my engine rebuild. This setup isn't as good as a "vernier" sprocket but it is an improvement over leaving it at zero (5.5degrees retarded). So the cam is within 1/2 a degree of perfect.
The painter wasn't supposed to paint inside where you see it, but I don't really see the harm as it 2 pac paint which has been baked on, if anything, I would say it would aid in the old draining away quicker.
Specs -
Rollmaster Cam "Gear" with new chain tensioner. A15 bored 1mm over with ACL cast pistons installed on Balanced Rods and Crank, which is attached to a Lightened flywheel, which was balanced to the new clutch assembly, the Cam is a Group "E" Grind which is designed more towards torque improvement. The block has Zero deck, looking at running 9.3 - 9.5:1 compression.
Oil supplied by a new factory oil pump.

 Re: Rollmaster camgears
I'm impressed.
Some engine builders paint the interior of their engines to seal in any casting sand that may remain in the casting, & to assist the speedy return of oil to the oil pan, so if you are sure that the paint will stay on, then it's a bonus.
I also like the idea of building your engine more for torque. As someone recently said in a post, Horsepower sells cars, Torque wins races. A strong engine with a reasonably fat, & flat, torque curve is always a joy to drive. This is one of the reasons why i went for the long stroke crank in my 1200 engine.

I had Feral Errol supply me one of these
Probably easier to use as the adjustment can be done with the cam cover inplace. And no removal of the sprokets required after initial fitment

These are good gears and chains to use if you are serious about your engine builds.

Would be a little cautious of how this one is being painted though, last thing I'd want is for the paint that I can see behind the chain start flaking and making its way into the oil galleries.
