Sure this is not optimal, there will some heat transfer, but I doubt if it matters too much. The intercooler should handle it OK. It looks like beautiful work.

What is the round thing?

With the intake manifold connected to the exhaust manifold,I imagine the intake runners would be getting a bit warm,(great on cold mornings) but limiting boost due to detonation?
