Still needs the trims & windows to be fitted, but a great job.
See other picture for factory top comparison.

 Re: My New Vinyl Top
The top was done by Jimmy J. of Mobile Vinyl Tops in Sydney. Thats what he specialises in, & he has been doing them for a long time. The cut of this top is the same as it had when new & differs from the factory one as it was applied by the dealer/ distributor during pre-delivery. That makes it a Capitol Motors special. See original dealer decal in the back window. Capitol Motors was also the N.S.W. State Distributor for Datsun cars at the time.

The finished job is perfect. The seams are not stitched, but welded instead, & the whole roof is glued instead of just along the sides, so the chances of water ingress are just about zip.
As many will know, this top was applied over a fully painted roof, so i do not expect any rust problems at all.

I can recomend Jimmy J. to anyone in the greater Sydney metro area who is thinking of fitting a new or replacement top to their car & he can be contacted on 0418 695 453. He was prepared to travel about 80 miles/ 130 Killometers to do mine, so he is very accomodating.

The mirror is one of the two brand new Sunny Coupe [JDM KB10] mirrors that were so kindly provided by 2332owner [thanks again Josh] & they are mounted in one of the two factory optional positions.

Fender mounting of mirrors was the default position & external mirrors seem to have been regarded as standard fitment to all B10 models in Australia, but they were an option-only in Japan. Most of the Australian KB10's used a mirror that had a diferent mounting bracket & a round mirror head. These were in fact the the mirrors for non coupe models.
Some Aussie coupes had the correct coupe bracket but with the round mirror head, & that is what was originally on my car.

 Re: My New Vinyl Top
I am familiar with the stylle of top that you describe & i have seen a couple over the years. It would seem that there were a few diferent styles of top that were applied & it may have even been left up to the contractor that fitted them to do their own thing. I was never too crazy about that style.

With this one, whatcha see is whatcha get. Thats it, finito, all done, completed. All thats needed to finish the top is to refit all the trim around the edges & refit the front & rear glass, then we move on to the bumpers, & i could still use a relatively straight front one.
