 Re: Dazza
figured it was about time i put in an updated pic...
spent about 6 hours on it today, cutting it back with 1200 grit wet and dry, and then polishing. Well worth the time

 Re: Dazza
with me old tyres i couldn't take off on a wet day, when it was on a slight hill....
I've put hankook K26's on it now, 195/60 R14. They stick waaaaay better!
still manages to chirp when i dump it at around 70km/h in the dry though.
Saving up to do some more work to the motor. At the moment its stock as a rock with a single webber extractors and 2 inch exhaust.

70km/h chirp it alright still. The mild/hot a14 I have chirps second hard enough that it kicks sideways abit, and will slide second while moving around 50-60 with abit of a flick from the steering wheel though and a clutching. Third will do the at about 70-80 and on a nice sweeping bend. Just dont have the torque for a 3rd gear chirp in a straight line.

Will be great fun to drive when you build up the engine hey. The torque to weight will be awsome. Should enter in the local burnout comp.

That looks really good Dazza!! Got a clean line and finish to it, nice one.
Freak what mods to your engine have you done? I mean internal wise...?

I reckon that would be in the history books, a Datto in a burnout comp

 Re: Dazza
My engine is pretty basic really. Just an a14 with flat top pistons, the high compression oval port head(Gx lookalike), mild head work(just a clean up and the chamber layed back to flow more towards the spark plug), a mild 25/65 cam with .400thou total lift. Makes best power at 6500rpm and pulls through to 6800rpm before power begins to drop of. Then on the outside are the twin SU's, electronic ignition and 4-2-1 extractors.

Dazza what are the plans for the L20b? Are you going to make it rev abit or keep it real grunty down low. I bet with carbs, cam, exractors and compression it would be great fun to drive. You could still have a real streety cam and make good power.
