I don't have more pictures of my manifold but look those pics I linked below. It's quite easy costruction to make. You need only four 90-deg tube curves and plates for carb and for cylinderhead. It's hard to explain... I hope it comes clear to you while looking those other photos.

This car is modified Datsun 1200 sedan... I had to make some room for this distributor construction and so I put also bigger radiator in it.

I added that brake booster afterwards... It hasn't been allways there.

There is also a Scoop on the bonnet... as you quessed. (There's old picture in my avatar without the scoop)

Here is more pictures:

Cam is from A12 engine and has only 1 cog while A14 and A15 needs 2 cogwheels, One for oil pump and other for distributor. I find only A12 race cam... so I had to modify.

Well I

Do you have any pictures of the ignition setup? I would like to see how you made it all work. [EDIT] Oops, i have now seen the other picture. Very clever.
What car is this engine in? There seems to be a lot of room between the engine and the radiator.

Just noticed that its a LHD car....... the downdraught would have to be easier to fit around the brakebooster than sidedraughts, and if it's a race car you could stick an airbox & bonnet scoop for a bit of extra airflow at speed

Dats hot- there's another picture in his album.

Exactly right...
It works very good and engine runs also much more responsive than before.

Main reason for that experiment was because my 306-deg camshaft had only one cogwheel. There fore I had to find out how to rebuilt my ignition system...

I like it. I always wanted to know how well the A-series engine works on Synchronis throat downdraughts. Certainly looks the business.

Well all i have to say is top job! At first i thought, why and how but now it is making more clearer sense....
Was it a custom cam job? Why only one cog on the cam?
And on the carb note, if you've driven a dual sidedraught similar engine - is there better response etc with this setup compared to the latter?
