If the reflections on the walls of cylinders 2 & 3 are anything to go by, i'd say you have glazed bores & an oil controll problem.

Clean all the gasket material from the deck & check it with a straight edge. If it is outside specs, then you can run a glaze breaker through the bores when you are having the block decked.

 Re: A15 block
I was hoping to avoid taking the block out
Most of the gasket material is gone now, just little bits left to remove. When that's done I'll pray it's still flat. The oil control problem may have been due to the previous owner installing 65 idle jets into the 40DCOEs? Maybe

Found two blocked water galleries in the existing gasket, which I expect was causing some issues too. Pushing on through, not been too bad so far, but I've yet to get it back assembled. Nissan wouldn't sell me the head bolts till I took in the old ones, they weren't sure the A15 uses the same parts as the A14 stock they have. So another trip on the scooter later.

Kegs: I haven't got any more really. It's a fairly new car for me and each time I've gone to the perfect location carpark at the beach, some dratted film crew have beaten me to it. I'll get some done shortly and post them up, assuming I manage to get the thing running again this year!
