There's a reason why they say "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"

Do it if you think you are capable, it will certainly be unique once you're done.

Are you using that ethanol blend hippie crap fuel that all the service stations seem to be replacing regular with? Do you buy from an independent station or from Shell/BP/Caltex?

Apparently it likes eating plastic fuel tanks and fuel lines so wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with all your rubber seals and such going kaput on you.

AhhhhhhhHHHHH!!! If only Dennis Marwood would step in and tell us the truth to all this info everyone seems to be giving.

About the best info on the SSS would probably be the old B&W review article ( http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=2241 and http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=2242 ) It was done in 72 when the SSS was in mid 'production'. Only thing is it was done on a race car, so some of the mods it had might not have been from the showroom.

Apparently one of Dennis Marwood's apprentices from the SSS era lives in my local area, I will try and track him down and ask what he knows so we can finally put an end to all this #### everyone keeps coming up with.

I'm currently attempting to make a SSS replica. I have a pair of DHLA's but they need to be re-jetted as they are set up to run on a 1L Escort methanol engine. Would a standard camshaft be able to be ground to the SSS profile?

Has anyone bought one of these?:

Hey mate:

- What year is your 120Y?

- What platform is it? (sedan, 2dr sedan, coupe, wagon)

- What engine did it originally come with?

- What gearbox did it originally come with?

In my Gregory's workshop manual, according to the schematic diagram labelled "Late model RHD 120Y models", the BY wire comes from the starter and runs to the neutral safety switch on the gearbox, then to the ignition switch, so would most likely only be powered when turning the key to the "start" position. The G wire appears in the horn, vacuum switching valve (component on emissions equipped engines?), kickdown switch and solenoid (auto trans), and dash circuits, so it would most likely be an "accessories" fed power wire.

Are you using a regulator in the line between the fuel pump and the carbs?

Which carb is flooding? the one closest in the line to the fuel pump, or the one furthest from the fuel pump?

You may have to put a Y-joint in the line coming from the fuel pump, then a regulator in each line coming from the Y before each carb. Then you know for sure each carb is getting the same pressure/amount of fuel.

hey mate, i'm after a (working) under dash wiring loom with all switchgear/relays etc for a '73 1200 sedan with strip dash, and also after glovebox and glovebox door.

And i'm also after a measurement, the diameter of an early model standard a12 head's intake ports (where the intake manifold bolts on)
