My advice would be to go to a car show or even a drag event and have a look round and see what has been sprayed by who.

MotorEx is coming up if you want to check out the best of the best.

Have a look at hot rod and street machine forums to see what places people are using as those guys are more into the restoration side of it all rather than just rubbing back an existing paint job, putting it in hi-fill and spraying it again.

Be prepared to spend quite a bit if you want it done properly, plenty of places in Sydney that could do it, but be ready for 5 figure quotes.

How about calling an engineer? They have to stay up to date on these matters as they put their name to whatever they sign off on.

Autometer sell one. I got it from Rocket. Can't remember which one of the two it is. But it was either part number AU5292 or AU5291.

That sounds right. Mine runs 3 wires from the gauge, down to the sender on the gearbox. We just bought the sender that suited the pulse rate of the gauge. You can calibrate them once set up on the road.

Here are the NSW requirements for wheels and tyres. Not that hard to look up and better than guessing.

The wheels themselves should be legal to use on the road but it will depend on the size of them.

Going off what is said in the document a135 or 145 tyre which is what is commonly used on 3.5" or 4" front runners is illegal.

That being said I had mine engineered when it was first built with a NSW engineer's certificate which had 135s down as the front tyre width.

it also states in the document that the maximum rear width for something like a 1200 would be 7" or so.

Offset may or may not be hard depending on all the options available for whatever wheel you choose. You can always measure it out on pieces of wood or cardboard when you have the suspension sorted to give you an idea of where the back spacing of the wheel will make it sit maybe?

You NSW guys have it easy anyway, just got to find someone lenient enough that will give you a pink or blue slip when you get defected. Look at all the crazy cars on the net and at shows with rego.

I will only give it a gutful in a straight line and probably never go quicker than the speed limit anyway.

Sure you won't haha.

It is the ex Ben Bray ute. Started off as the green off the series I RX7 then Ben Bray bought it as a roller. Put the SR20 in it and painted it orange. Ben Bray sold it and it became orange with a 13BT briefly then it got put into the wall at Powercruise then sprayed the matte silver colour. Now it is for sale again.
