the diff cetre from a blue bird (TRX) fits into the 1200 ute housing. the ratio is either 3.9 or 3.7 where as the ute is 4.1. You could go the whole hog and fit the
rear disc brakes(sick).

Dunno if this helps, but in an old mag of mine, "Best fours No.2", some dude with an fj20 in a bluebird uses a datto 1200 dizzy because he "didnt want the hassle of
wiring up things" .
Dont know if this helps but it sounds a bit sick.(like cousins marrying).

Cheers Chris and Justin for the info. Even 3.9 would be an improvement over the 4.11s the ute has at the moment. At 110kmh its doing pretty close to 4 grand on the tacho. I
might keep the 4.11s for hill climbs.

thanks from Mark

combo under my ute?

just a note to say thanks to mareo and the rest for the help with tacho wiring. for those interested Oz spec 1200 tacho wires are
yello wire with black stripe= + ignition
black= earth
black wire with white stripe which wrapes around the terminal but doesnt contact it(because it creates a magnetic field which is picked up by the terminal.AHH HAAA!!! this had
me stumped for a while)goes in series between coil and balast resistor
All of which is now installed on the ute and seems to be calculating the apropriate vroomming sounds.
Also snatched a peek at Andrews car inside the cover of the latest Zoom mag(that is you right?)
CONGRATS anyway!! They seemed to love you.
