on a positive note, ill still take it to the drags and my bro-in-law produced a dyno sheet for the NA a-15 as it was when i bought the car, so i shall have a before and after turbo dyno read-out when i get a chance to dyno it

NA version made around 53kW at wheels, which is a bit less than i would have thought, just goes to show the good old 1200s dont need much power to be quick

i got it!!! that set up is jinksed.
when i had it on my 1200 it cost me a month of walking and $240 in an onthe spot fine,
just didnt feel like i was going that fast.
the copper that pulled me over said straight away " is this thing a turbo or something, you picked up speed from the corner extremily quickly" what could i say.
he shower me my speed and i thought oh ooo, he droped it to 96kms in a 60kms zone
i was only in third gear too
It was the second day i had it on the road too.
so he went over the car and then just gave me the fine for the speeding and let me go.
so i went straight to the bottle shop then home

I'm glad I've never heard of something like that here in US, at least where I live. Probably they do bother people here like over there, but you would have to drive with a supercharger sticking up through the bonnet/hood.
What if you refuse to let them open your engine bay/nor inspect your car, because that is invation of privacy, you can refuse, all they can give you then is a citation for not cooperating with the officers. Here in US people are so ready to fight back with law suits and complaints, that I think cops think it twice before asking anybody to let them check their car, because, if there is nothing, you can always make a complaint for abuse of authority.

Good point Jaimie, RC you should check what rights you have in these instances. Ive even heard that you dont have to pull over for a cop. This may be a bunch of crap but worth looking into. Maybe I watch to much law and order!!! They may have to have a official search warrant to search your car...I dont know. Any budding lawyers among us??

once you open your boot that gives them the authority to search your whole vehicle, I am not sure wether this applies to your bonnet as well. If they really insist you can ask for a superior officer to oversee, of which he would most likely have to come from the station. Insentive for them to not go further I'd say. Moral of the story dont let them near it without a lawyer present, and you do have the right to remain SILENT.

in my experience saying anything at all against them or slightly smart arse gets you in DEEP poo, last thing you wanna do is upset em, unfortunately the culture in australia is diffrent and the people allow themselves to get raped unlike america, like here they have gone absolutely nuts with speed cameras but no-ones really ever organised anything to go against them

I think that the law in NZ is that the police can stop you for a ramdom breath test and if they think/smell or what ever drug/s they have the right to search your car on the spot lawyer or no lawyer. Its some thing to do with the miss use of drugs act. So there for in NZ the police can do what ever they like if they think that you are caring drugs.

So if you like a "bad" person they search your car top to bottom inside out and leave you to clean up the mess and then even if they dont find anything wrong with the car or drugs and they just happen to put some of your stuff on the road they fine you for desposing of dangous litter!!!

But I could be wrong, cos the law may have changed since then.
