Thanks davo, that cuts out 1 possibity.

The guy who put the SR 20 in the coupe has been going for almost 18 months. That is really disheartening. Does it take that long to do the CA18det swap? I thought I read
somewhere that Andrew did it in less than 8 weeks. Please tell me that is a more realistic time frame.

Hey that's me taking forever on the SR20DET into the 1200! I haven't done a thing to it this year because I've been working on my our 235hp VG30DE 1600 (http://www.datsuns.com/cars/pl510/
davel510.htm)

There's a guy in AUS whp planned out his SR20DET into 1200 and then did it in a 3-day weekend. It's all about planning and prioritizing. I'd guess it could be done in under 2 months if it
was made a #1 priority.

Even the most complex engine swaps can be done in about 2 months if all you do is work on the car in all your free time. I have maybe 30 hours into my swap so far - that's two 15hour days.
I just haven't made it my top priority.

It's my understanding the CA fits better, and the SR trans is big enough to require some trans tunnel work.

No offence intended mate, I was just wondering how long a cramped engine swap took. I put an 8 in my old HQ, but that only took one and a half days. Our HQ's are like your
old 70's valiants so there was no problems with enough space.

I have heard that the stumpy skyline g-box would fit better. Do you know if it bolts up to the SR20?

No offense taken . I don't know if it bolts to the SR20. I know a KA24 trans rear section mated to the SR box front section makes a short
box as well though.

My Brother Jeff, is mating my old stumpy skyline gearbox onto a SR Bellhousing, I'll publish the details
when they are available.
