First day at the race track after 15+ years and great to get back into it- car feels great, shame about the rusty driver!
One big issue that I am just not happy about is the braking. It has Toyota KE 70 single acting calipers with Mk2 Escort rotors and some trick Mintex pads- this combination used to work really well but maybe the car is going just so much quicker?
Anyway its time for some serious stopping power.
Does anyboby know what is available in alloy 4 pot calipers that will bolt up to the standard 1200 strut?The reason that I wish to keep the stanadard strut is that mine have adjustable platforms on them already and I don't really want to tamper with the unsprung weight or the overall suspension package.

Toyota landcruiser? Not sure if alloy though. But thats on stanza struts. I think 1200 might be same

What size rims are you running?

Most OE alloy 4 pots need 15"..

How about the simple S13 CA setup? Fits under 13", 250mm vented disc and good choice of pads off the shelf. Should be more than enough for most 1200's..

Will they fit his 1200 stock trite though?

Will fit the std 1200 strut, just need the disc hub but prob could be made to fit the drum hub with a bit of work..

Dave, I'll have to give you a drive of my car. I run S13 brakes. They fit under 13" alloy's. And have all the stopping I've ever needed. Plus it's almost a bolt on conversion. Only once have they ever smelt hot, and I've never been able to make them fade. (Plus I'm only running cheap nasty pads)

Nismo or sumimoto Mk63 brake calipers.Not sure if alloy but They are four pot and fit under 13inch rims.They cost quite a bit though.Rebuild kits are now abit more common than a fews years back.

That sounds interesting- whereabouts would I go to track some of these down?

They often pop up in yahoo japan auctions.

Around the price range of aud$1500+ landed in oz for the front calipers.They were used by period specific race cars back in the days and offered by FIA for competition use.Do some research on them before going that route.One of their biggest advantage is that they are four pot yet fit under 13inch rims and are period specific.

Their rebuild kits now very often pop up on yahoo japan auctions and at very affordable prices.

You could also search for businesses that buy items for customers off yahoo japan auctions.Pm me if interested in ordering some from japan.
