For months now I have been wondering what to do about my T18 Toyota, sell, keep ect. A while back I was offered a Datsun 620 tray back for $500, good body, tired mechanicials. What do you think about a Toyota T18 transplant. 1800cc ohc 2ltc plant, T50 steel case 5spd. Should be ok I would think.

Thought that the 620 came with an L18 anyways in the petrol and a painful 2.0l diesel.

If you want to stick with a 4 pot shove in an l20. If thats not enogh, go a v6 or v8. Cant go wrong with those options.

yeah the 720's had both the l20 and the z24....both diesel and petrol....both where gutless, the 720's are much heavier. if you want a good gearbox i would go the 180sss dogleg 5 speed, very strong box

720s had the Z24. J15 looks nothing like L-seres, but looks a lot like an A12.

There are a fair number of 620 parts that fit the Datsun 1200, and even more than can be modded into a 1200 (like the H190 rear). Maybe use it as a parts vehicle???

J15 looks nothing like an L series?

Perhaps the 620 im thinking of had an l series in it. I distinctly remember looking at the the engine, and seeing it slanted over to one side (l series style), hence my confusion.

Then again, it was dark, and it was night shift. I could have been looking at a bogger and not known the difference!

Hey guys there seams to be some confusion. The 2ltc and T50 is the 1800cc/steel 5spd out of my toyota te71 t18 hatch. These little units were known for shutting down 1600 and 2l celicas.
