That's what those blokes with clipboards will do to ya!

I thought you could pretty much do anything to a car in the shaky isles? I've heard of street registered cars with half chassis' and ladder bar rear ends over your way. If that's the case your man should have no worries OK'ing a twin turbo small block.

If you go this way you may need to start wearing brown undies though.

he's ok with the tube front end but it has to be completely redesigned. In other words cut off and started again. Still thinking about a motor. There is a guy in nz putting a lexus in his ute i will hunt down the link. Now that would be fun 200 kw plus in a light ute

small update decided to cut out the back end of the ute and change the sub frame from welded in to bolt in. I am glad i cut it out the welding was shocking could lift one coner and the other three would still touch the ground. So spent most of the weekend cutting and grinding and my camera f**k*d it self as well.

ok bit of an update got the rear chassis made so that the rear sub frame can be bolted and unbolted. doesn't look like much but lot's of messing round. Moved the sub frame back 3/4 of an inch.Picking up this weekend 2 front guards bonnet and tail gate for the ute.
Man with clip board was happy with the rear end just got to figure out what to do with the front end.

here's a pic of the frame in the car and nowOpen in new window

No still going to have flares but not like the last ones.

The last body was full of bog rust and not one of the panels where straight. there was not much right with it
