hi I'm new to the group
I have a question has anyone looked into the possibility of bolting in as ga16de?
I ask only because I have seen an e16 in a 210 and the owner said it bolted right up to the stock tranny

That doesn't sound too right...
I dunno though.
A Ga16 is out of the twin cam pulsars is it?

The GA16DE only came in FWD form. I'm sure you'll have a tough time finding a suitable RWD transmission. I would never tell anyone not to do something because it's too wacky..... but that's too wacky

There's really no point in trying to constantly reinvent the wheel, as it were. The CA18DE(T) is a good choice, the SR20DE(T) is a good choice, no real need to go hunting up other kooky engines that "might" fit.

Just my $0.02.

i have heard something like that before about them bolting up to the 1200 tranny except it needs to be machined to fit a spigot bearing

What was everyone salivating over in the photo album? The crossflow head looks good.

And they have an advantage over the CA18 and SR20 -- the GA and E is available in wrecking yards across the US. It's not so much the engine (it's easy to get import engines) but more so replacement parts and wiring harnesses, etc.

Aside from the tranny question is the distributor issue -- it's on the back of the head. But you could cut a hole in the firewall and change the cap from inside the car!

You may joke but I had a customer with a gemini with a piaza engine and this is what was done!
It was easy to see and change the pick up on though!
