Well my next project is to do this to a 1200 coupe.

1971 Datsun 1200 Coupe
A15 Engine. Holley G180 (32/36 Weber). extractors and 2 inch exhaust.
Standard 1200 4 speed with lightened fly wheel and HD clutch
Stanza front struts and brakes.
15x6 CSA Wheels with 195/50 rubber.

verry nice, i had a choice between a 75 celica, and a 75 120y for my first car and chose the datsun cause it was in good working order, ive never looked back, but i do admire the old celicas, even the old lancers which my best mate owns.

The 1200 has some Mustang-like elements. Sure does.Quote:
The body form is very good but we don't much like the Mustang-like grille, side vents (although functional) and wheel covers.

The 2nd-gen Celica is even more Mustang-like in my opinion.

I imagine your 1200 mods will be more radical than this, but here's an example of a subtle Mustang-ish mod for just the hood of a 1200:

All my own fabrication in 1.3mm steel.
The coupe will be started when I finish this and when my missus lets me.
