The oval port is cool, because generally it means it's a GX head, so it had larger valves and a different cam (maybe?) Also it originally came with twin Su's. It doesn't make a lot of difference. It makes it slightly harder to make a custom manifold for it later, in case you want to turbo it or something equally interesting.
The extractors and larger exhaust is all good. As you know what it looks like underneath, it still sounds ok. I paid $3000 for a completely stock one about a month ago. It's cost me another $1000 to get it to my place and get it registered and insured. Mine doesn't have any of the nice things yours would have, but I liked this one because it was completely standard.
I've got another one which is getting the worked CA18DET treatment. It'll cost as much as a R32 GTR, but hey, it'll be mine and few (If Any) will be like it. It depends whether you like to be different, or whether you want to impress your friends. My close friends make jokes about my Datsuns..they wonder when I'll grow up.."bugger that" I say. Some people like to read Sunday papers and sleep all weekend, I like to work on and drive my Datsun/s.

The day I lay down and agree that a FWD 6 cylinder with A/C constitutes a car, I'll admit I've gone crazy, and ask to be put in a mental home. Otherwise I'll know I've gotten married, got kids, and realise who wears the pants...

Either way, the car sounds sweet. Make sure that you keep it out of the rain, buy a car cover and use it (please).

Chris

I'm with Chris, the day i buy a commodore/falcon is the day i kick my own arse, I'm a stock broker and i park my datsun 1600 at work between a new Ferrari 360 Modena & a BMW M5. The guy with the Ferrari (he is on his 4th) tracks it at oran park, like i do, but if i prang mine i can re-shell it at a minimal out lay, any one got a spare Modena laying around? Didn't think so

suddenly my sedan is on the market!

I wouldn't pay more than $3000 for a sedan with a stock A15. And it would want to be pretty bloody good for that money. It doesn't really sound like anything particularly special. Has nice suspension by the sound of it, but the rest of it is all pretty cheap, easy, common stuff. All A14 and A15 have oval port heads standard. And what's a '1200 late model diff'?

ute diff is goood
not all a-14 have oval but some do and all a-15 have oval port, they are the usual mods which really are quite cheap, unless this thing has an imaculate body (no rust included) it aint worth it!!!

only thing that impressed me was suspension and seats, the rest are 50-100 dollar mods or less really

As far as the mods being cheap and simple, there are some folks out there who are "checkbook tuners." I'm not saying it is anyone here, but if they want a car with those mods but don't want to get dirty doing it themselves, they should be willing to pay for it.

Now, where did I put that spare Ferrari I had laying around?
