I have to replace the seats in the datto 1200 coupe I bought. I am thinking maybe mr2 seats or mx-5 seats - Has any one tried to fit these sorts of seats? Or does anyone have a succes story with any other seats?

mine are mr2 seats, i removed the spot welded brackets and reweld the seats onto some angleline that gets bolted to the original mounts, you only have to grind a bit of metal under the back of the seat for them to fit.

I got gemini buckets in my 1200 ute. Bit of welding and drill 2 holes and she fits like a glove.

I have either MX-5 or MX-6 seats in my coupe. (I think they were from a '92)

I used the Mazda seat rails and made some rear brackets to mount them. They are very comfy, and one of the best upgrades to my 1200 I have done so far.

I've got FTO in mine. They are comfy, but unless you've got a welder and alot of time I'd go aftermarket.

Or try and find some with seat rails which arent uneaven! (usually the tunnel side of the seat is higher)

I put R32 GT-R seats in my ute. Mostly because of how thin they are which gives every bit of available cabin space in a ute, and they were free. Had to fab brackets using a combination of the original brackets and GT-R seat adjusters. Also, since they're uneven I had to make some spacers to make the fabrication easier on the passenger side. Took most of an afternoon, but well worth it.

I used Tenzo racing seats in my sedan and used the same bolts and seat rails to fit the seats! tokk me about 1 hour to remove the old seats and fit the new seats no drilling or anything required....as if they were made for 1200's!
