Edit

Ok, I just read the other post where you introduced yourself and told about your car. If you have an A-15, there should be bolt holes for either the two bolt manifold or the four bolt manifold. All of the later A-series engines I have seen had this.

simple realy A12s had small round ports and a single stud between the two ports and the A14 and A15s had oval ports and two studs at the top either side of the ports.
although I have seen a small round port head with the two studs though.
What you have is a webber manifold for a 1200 you need one for a 1400 or 1500 . The 1200s are single webber and the 14/1500s are twin webbers

Ah...I am understanding now. I haven't pulled the old manifold off yet to check if it has the other bolt holes.

Why is it that the the A15 manifolds are all twins? Will there be no benefit to using a single weber?

The only reason I want to use single is for simplicity and also to keep the cost down.

BTW you've all been real helpful, thanks

Datspeed (Barry Corners business) no longer exists.

But if anyone knows what he's doing now or how I can contact him I'd be interested to know

There may be more value to starting out with the twin set up as you will quickly run out of hp options with the single. I picked up 2x weber 40's and a redline manifold for an A15 for $400 - some good deals pop up regularly. The ultimate carb manifold is a JTS with 45's - that'll flow enough for 160hp with the right head work and bottom end. Give Jeff a call in St Marys before you start your build up - he's had 30 years with A series and still races. Very reasonable prices too.

I second that, JTS has the gear. Go twins and only spent the money once instead of having to fork out again and upgrade later.
