I was motivated by my ride in Andrew's coupe so I went in and did a bit more.

I brazed the handbrake cable joint up and put some new door and boot rubbers on. I had to test the handbrake of course . It was the first time I had driven it in a couple of months (apart from on and off the trailer) and can't stop beaming.

Thanks TnP,

They are 185/60 r13's.

The rims are 13x6... perfect for formula ford tyres! They only clear the brakes by a couple of mm.

Cheers

Well the project is back on the road again! My trial HSC finished today and I have five days off so today I got the old alloy cage and all the interior out of the car. All that nice white floor has been sanded off because I decided it wasnt good enough. Dad has been very generous and "lent" me the fabricator from his work to help me bend the chrome molly cage up for the next two days, so I will have some good actions shots tomorrow night hopefully. The following weekend I will send it away to get all TIG welded. Then I will mount the brake bias valve, new seat and 5 point harness and paint the interior again. I have got a set of avon's on 4 minilites ready. Then hit the track for some fun! I then plan on building another hot engine on the side. Well two.. haha.. one a turbo a12 and the other a twin 40's a14 to replace the current mild twin SU setup, that I will have to find a home for...

Cheers!

Hi Micheal, no worries mate but I know what to do- just for some reason it wont let me put photos in from putfile.com?

Anyway, I have had a really busy week on the car and have the cage all bent and tacked up, ready to be TIG welded (should only take a coupe of hours) hopefully next weekend. Here a couple of photos of the build. My mate Wes was a real help, and we have built something that should comply with CAM's and the RTA. It is pretty satisfying having a finished product like it!

Oh, I forgot to say.

I have been buying a whole swag of other bits and pieces along the way as well. I have got a 3 sets of formula ford tyres (now one set on rims), a brake bias valve, warning lights, brass button clutch, twin webbers, seat and harness, fire extinguisher, new fuel tank (but I will try and make a drop tank), SAAS deep dish steering wheel, bigger master cylinder (7/8ths I think), lower ball joints, etc. The plan is to get the all the body, suspension and chassis sorted (should be pretty soon) and then start racing on the current engine as is, then slowly develop the driveline without hindering the racing calendar!

TnP, I think we now have twins!
