Specifically regarding the head gasket, head, and camshaft.

Basically, I'm thinking of buying a .487/300 A-series cam, some upgraded Nismo A12GX headbolts, and a thinned metal headgasket. I think all of these are 'intended' to go into an A12, but I'm not 100% sure...is this all just bolt and swap simple or not? Thanks for the help! :)

The engine in my car is currently a stock A15, and I plan to change that. I've been trying to find a cam for it...minimal success. It appears that the head bolts are the same.
I haven't had much luck finding a metal headgasket either. My A15 is on it's original 25 year old headgasket and that worries me...I'd like to just upgrade it to a thinner metal one.

there's probably no benefit to using a metal one if you're not doing something extreme.

cams? those are fairly easy... you might still be able to get a nismo cam even.

I'm just paranoid ;)

Is there any company out there doing cams and lifters for the A-series motors? Or am I best off going for a custom grind at a shop? I'm thinking of getting a twin-carb setup going, but I might just skip it and just run a 32/36 and the stock cam if I can't find anything.

This engine is due for a rebuild anyway...metal in the drained oil :( Which is why I've been trying to hunt down stuff like upgraded head gasket stuff, cam, etc. If I can handle that while it's being rebuilt, that'd be good.

One more thing: headers. Swappable between the A-series mills? Any recommendations on a good A-series header?

in AU there are some nice roller rockers from "Yella Terra" i want a set, they require proper pushrods. nismoparts.com still has:
super expensive oil pan, for what it costs get an accu-sump.
head gaskets - composition and metal - $76
Nismo Race Cam #1 - $190
light weight and oversize lifters
Headers - 1200's use 1 and b210,210,310 use another - $254
you'll need the special gasket, and they may need work done if you're not using a particular intake.

the #'s for just about every proven A series cam are on the internet, so you can get one ground. you may need a donor cam.

Don't get a custom cam unless the guy speccing it has a wall of datsun racing trophies.

If you go to the 'other' Datsun forum, you'll see I've got a thread going about Nismoparts ;)

Part of my issue with them is that their site is jank as can be, and they don't mention what parts are meant to fit what A-series motor. That nismoparts site is part of why I started this thread...I think most of that stuff they have listed is meant for A12s, and I don't have one. I'm not sure if all that will fit.

all the pats i listed were available for the A15.

most parts are interchangeable.
( parts not interchangable as well, pistons, cranks, con rods. and things for A12 - not A12A I think the A12A,A14,A15 share most parts other than those ...)

more of an issue is that they tend to be vague about how many of the items you are getting, like sway bar link hardware.

that list is kind of a reference.

they expect you to know the application, those are race parts.

interesting they show a crank pulley for the 1200, but not the 210, either i got the last one for the 210, or i'm creative.

Thanks for the help :) I've had the metal gasket, 9+1 GX head bolts, lifters, cam, and header+gasket picked out for a while now.

So, you've used this place before? Happy with the customer service? Ive' got a thread going at the Classic Datsun section of nissanforums about them...looking for people's experiences on customer service, etc.
