Im Meg and i have a datsun 1200 with the toyota supercharger engine but has been swapped to a turbo set up.It also has a borgwarner diff 4link coil over rear.
My Questions are as follows Remembering im doing it myself and yes im a girl so explain clearly pleeeeeeeeez thanks.

1. What Gearbox will bolt straight up without making a bellhousing or addapter.
2.What needs to be done to the wateroutlet on the back of the head as it is to close to the fire wall.
3.What struts will bolt straight on that has a disc brake.

dont even bother with a RWD T50 box, you'll break it in no time. Go supra box with off-the-shelf custom bellhousing.

Quote:
bell housing.....400dollars
w57 box from wreckers.....200dollars
New clutch slave.........20dollars
New Button Clutch......600dollars

Much much much stronger than a T-50.

or you can keep blowing out t-50s at near 300bucks a peice

The water outlet is still there on my 120Y, a bit of hammer adjustment to the firewall for clearance, and the motor doesnt sit rediculously far foreward.

struts/brakes will probably need a combination of parts from various makes/models.

if you have a 4agze mow reffered to as the 4agte, you can use a toyota sprinter gearbox etc that was intended for the 4a series engines.

the rear water out let can be re routted into the coolong system like on a series heads.

you can use 120y or sunny struts but would recomend stanza... check the teh section and add where your from meg... a lot of single guys here looking for datto chcks... im married so not interested.

Hi Meg,
welcome to the site, and may you find as much information and help as he have.

I know of a few gearboxes that bolt straight up, but we don;t seem to have them in South Africa. they are mainly out of the older RWD Corollas, and more information on them may be found here, 4A-GZE stuff.

Depending on what you want to do about the heater in the car, you may block it of, or manufacture a more compact 90 degree outlet to connect it up to your heater system. I have blocked it up as I wont be needing it.

Any late model 1400 Nissan ute's will bolt straight on, and their disks are quite good. Keep in mind that this is for us in ZA, but may be different for you if you're in another country.

Have a look at my build, as I've been doing the exact same conversion, and you may pick up a few things. I'll be bolting in my new front suspension in the next few days, and will have pictures up of that.

I'm using an aftermarket ECU so I won't need those sensors. However, I'm sure they have some function for enrichment when starting up in the cold.

Also pay attention to the PM about the little pipe between the top outlet and the thermostat housing, it could save you an engine...

So I have to use the sensors(put them in the cooling system somewhere).

And i have to feed the pump water via a pipe.(where can i feed it from appart from the back of head.can i branch off turbo water feed and where exactly does it go.

Also where did you get the water for the turbo exactly
both in and out.as i want to run my lines.

I have no idea where i will find a computer and loom in australia i might have to go aftermarket computer was it straight forward to install.
Im going to ask alot of questions as im going along Thanks for your help

I'm unsure what you mean by this? Does this reffer to the thinner pipe exiting from the top outlet?

My turbo doesn't make use of water cooling.

Computer not installed yet, but it's very easy according to the wiring diagram. Have a look at Dicktator. Not sure if they'll post to OZ/NZ though.

Where in the world are you BTW.? I'm sure other people are also wondering...
