biggest master cylinder = urvan 15/16"

best booster = sunny (b310)

but urvan master is probably too big ........

I run this master cylinder on my coupe, works great. it matched up with 180B booster.
At first i ran it with the stanza brakes, but now i run R32 skyline front rotors and 4-spot sumitomos.
I have never looked back since.

Cheers

the sunny booster can be mounted two ways

1. cut firewall hole bigger

2. put spacer in so you dont have to cut firewall hole bigger

the second is better if you can make a spacer up, you may also need something in the way of a spacer to put master on as bolt holes might not match

i had a sunny booster and urvan master which mated but my bro-in-law got same thing and they didnt

my bro took the master for his esky and ive still got the booster but i dont really want it at this stage, ive still got stanza brakes

myplans are for pintara discs (need some machining to install) and hi-lux 4 spot calipers for the front and bluey disc over drums for the back, but i cant do that till i can afford 14" rally tyres

I'm 110kg so I don't need a booster in a little car
Though I did upgrade the old 1000 to vented discs

Some people prefer to pass the braking pressure/stress through the pedal box.
This is not good as you can bend the standard 1200 brake pedal (it's possible) under heavy braking load. A Booster also helps protect against this.
hehe. That describes my old "whale" 510 Wagon (Datsun 1600 wagon). First, the early 510 brakes weren't powerful enough to lock up on dry pavement. Second, for normal driving I had to apply amazing amount of force to the pedal. For more than the usual stop, I literally stood on the brake pedal (raising myself off the seat!). The pedal was a little bent, but never broke.

Looking back now, I see it would have been much safer to have a booster to take the force off the pedals. And bigger brakes would have been safer yet.

My 2-dr 1200 always had easy pedal effort even w/o booster.

Hi Jimmy,

Are you saying that first turn in your 1200 it was good or bad?

My 4 wheel drum equipped 4dr 1200 is dangerous to drive. I've fully reconditioned the drums and wheel cylinders..it's still crap It's only a single circuit system too.

The secret to safety..Don't go any faster than 40mph ..or get bigger brakes.

Chris.

with a smaller diameter master cylinder...wouldn't you have more hydraulic leverage? The trade off would be more pedal travel.
I had installed larger b210 rear wheel cyl (13/16") instead of the stock 1200 wheel cyl (11/16) and the rear wheels would lock-up with ease. (yes, i eventually spun out on the freeway and hit a gaurdrail before i changed them back)
I plan on installing the larger front brakes from a 210/b310 and the larger rear wheel cylinders and retain the stock 1200 master cylinder. Basically, 210/b310 with a smaller master cylinder. As long as I have enough pedal travel, the brakes should sqeeze harder with less pedal pressure. yes?no? maybe so?
