Hey

In the last month or so I have been working on a hard cover for my 1200 ute. Here are some pics of it so far.

nice job man... is it heavy? im thinking someone needs to investigate the carbon fiber proccess i think its pretty much the same as fibre glass, must be the cost that stops people using it.

edit: does that have a 13b???

na i wish,

carbon fiber cost to much and fibre glass is cheaper and does the same job. its not that heavy. the gas struts make it open automatically and you can close it with one finger

very nice......

was wondering the same thing .... about the "13B"
CF is a lot stronger per weight than FG...
Cf is not exactly as easy as FG though. getting out all the little bubbles, very problematic, if you do not do vacuum bagging, and if it's got bubbles in, you see them, because you don't cover it with paint...

hey rotahead_dato can you please send us an email adress so i can send some more detailed pics with some explanations.

in short i made a inside wooden mould first in top of the tray then fibre glassed it then welded up a frame and fibre glassed it on then cut out the holes for the clips
