Posting pictures - HELP !!

OK, I just resized my pic's to 640 x 480, tried to upload them with no luck. I entered the title, discription, located the resized photo & hit submit, nothing happened. It might of said image too large or no photo uploaded but that was obvious.

How are guys ending up with multiple photos in their post ? Are these hosted outside this site & linked automatically thru the posting?

Do I need to create a personal photo album within the sites "photo album" & then link to it thru the post?

So, all you geeky tech guru's who are much smarter than I, please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

thanks for the help.

Edp

I had a little play today, with loading pics. onto a post.
Worked a treat.
You might have chosen a day when there were too many stray gamma rays around
Seriously, check the FAQ area if you haven't already.
I managed to link a pic. of my body rotisserie from another web site easy peasy.
I could have loaded it onto this site and done much the same thing but I didn't.
When posting, you click on the "IMG" box.
Then a "scripted window" should appear, asking you for a URL.
You then paste/type a link that goes EXACTLY to the pic. that you want to insert.
[FAQ is good help here].
P.S. If you don't see the scripted window, your PC may be not allowing it to happen.
It should alert you though, that the site is trying to open a scripted window, you then allow it to happen, then reclick on the "IMG" box and you are away.
Then it all happens

Thanks for that.
So if the photo you want to post is in your own computer under "my documents " or "my photos", how do you go about getting the url for that?

Well, as the FAQ points out, you need to post that picture to a server on the Web.
If you leave it on your PC, no-one will be able to see it, you have to upload it "somewhere".
That can be, in my instance Sony Imagestation, or you can upload them to this site and they will be added to the zillions of pics. already there.
I haven't done that yet, but I'm guessing you just cut and paste the image ID into your Post, similar to what I did for the remote URL.
Have a play, you won't get shot for trying
Some of us [more mature people] have been playing with a post which was created in error
I don't think anyone would mind you having a fun time there either.
Look for "Oops created a thread... please delete" under the Main Forum.
If it doesn't work you can edit your post until you crack the code

Hi Evan,

You can post your pictures directly to the Photo Album here.

But when you resize the photo, you need to save in "JPEG" format. TIFF and BMP formats take too much file size.

The FAQ is here, it should answer most questions: site FAQ - uploading photos
