Help Wanted !!

Can someone please help. I need to get a copy of the pages regarding carburettors from a workshop manual for my 1200. I am rebuilding a twin barrel downdraught for my 1200 ute but
am unable to get my hands on a manual. I live in a rural area. Is it possible that someone could scan in the relevant pages and email them to me?
I am not looking for a freebie, but have been told it will take 10 days for me to get a manual posted to me.
Thankyou in anticipation.

Many thanks for the help.
Yes I am talking about the stock two barrel. I bought my ute with the carby in pieces in a cardboard box. I have it basically back together but would like to know about
the setup and linkages. This is all I need to get in and drive my new toy !!

Regards

Craig

Over the weekend I was bored so I decided to build my dream 1200 (on paper of course). I added prices up for a rough estimate of how much everything would cost and it came to about $9000!
Even though you could almost buy a new car for that much, I would so much rather have the 1200. In about a year or hopefully less, I'm going to try to take on a project to build this "dream
1200" and most of you have already heard what I want to do with it. My goal is to have it featured in either Turbo Magazine or Sport Compact Car. If it does ever get featured, I will be
sure to scan it and let everyone see. Just a few of the goodies listed: restored, repainted body, intercooled turbocharged EFI A15 with forged pistons, O-ringed block, stainless valves,
roller rockers, ARP studs, dual valve springs, the list goes much further. How much would anyone else's "dream 1200" cost? and what would it have? Take it easy everyone!

Oh these are fun! Good topic

I'm building my dream 1200 now. Stage I is getting the SR20DET to about 320 wheel (350+ crank) HP.

Stage II is complete suspension rework, including eliminating the struts up front for A-arms (camber gain under cornering loads
is a good thing).

My goal is to run in, and be noticed at, Car & Driver's One Lap of America in 2002.

Cost? Estimate $15000 USD. More than a many new cars, but how many new cars at any price will keep up with a 1750lb, 350hp 1200?

I'm twisted, though. I have a 230hp 1600 (510) and it's "ok" - it's actually the wife's car

FWIW, I used to dream about building up smaller engines to make big power w/ 1600's, but for the price of building up an L20B to 200+hp it's cheaper to buy a motor that can already
make that much power to begin with.

I'd guess you can buy and swap in a 225hp SR20DET for less than it's take to get an A15 built to 225hp. Not saying it's for everyone, but that's certainly how my train of thought
goes...

My next dream 1200 will cost around $20-25 grand but will have 400hp CA18det full on susspension and brakes with lots of subtle mods I can see it now will still be fully street
legal just a bit tougher than my current coupe :)

A dream 1200 huh. Well why stop at 400hp and rear wheel drive? Why not just graft in a whole all wheel drive setup from a nissan skyline or something. Obviously you would still use
the SR20det somehow. Use the complete front end basically from a skyline, struts brakes and all. Work the SR like that "ghost" 200sx in Hot 4's. 700 hp or so??? SOunds like a tough SR
to me. Now the rear leafs would have to go and an IRS setup from a later model nissan grafted in.

Now that would be a cool 1200. Some how i would think it would cost well over 100k to build. And not to mention man hours, planing and designing.

It would be a serious weapon!! And loads of fun to!! If i win lotto this is what im building :) But for now i will stick with the A14.

It's more than just doing it for ease. Cost is the biggest factor. You can spend $5000 on having a sweet hotted up A14/15 running big webers or Fuel injection..this all costs too much,
and you get bad fuel economy. If you have some technical ability, you can get the power you need, for half the price. And improve your fuel economy. My CA18DET gets similar fuel
economy to a standard A14..When driven carefully..:)
