What about doin the oval intake ports for a GX head? The GX heads have bigger ports than the A14/A15 ovals do

Hang on a minute - are you saying GX intakes are like standard round port stud patterns with ovular ports instead??? oh, no these are A14 / A15 oval ports - sorry for the confusion!

As far as I know, the GX cylinder head uses the same bolt pattern as the A14/A15 oval port cylinder heads. I am just not sure if the ports sizes are the same or different between the GX cylinder head and A14/A15.But as mentioned, nothing a di grinder can't fix.

The round ports use then their own bolt pattern that are different to the oval port heads.

A question about the grade of aluminium for the intake manifold. What grade would you guys suggest? The laser cutter says they use 10something.
I think it is too soft.Must I then rather go mild steel?

WARNING!

Ok people, I've checked a few different heads with a laser cut sample and I'm getting some drastic different variances in castings!!!

One head I have, #2 and #4 are 1mm shifted to the left, another head I looked at (A14 Pulsar oval port), all the ports (intake AND exhaust) were 2mm higher than another I measured!!!

So... where do we go from here? Do I make the ports small enough to cater for the majority?

This would mean that everyone would have to grind the templates to suit their head...

I don't know what to do - whats the general consensus?

makes you wonder...

how often i've just chucked on an oval port manifold thinking she'll be right

and they are probably out of alignment now and then....
