Hey guys I have been a little quiet over the past little while. Uni has been keeping me busy. The old man has been keeping the conversion going while I have been away from home and he has it now pretty much finished, so a few beers are heading his way.
Here are the latest pics

This is the adaptor bracket and spacer plate all machined and ready to use

I made a small mistake in the design of the adaptor plates, as you can see in the last photo I used cap screws to bolt the plate to the strut but the lower pair of bolts will interfere with the steering arm, so once either me or the old man comes up with a suitable solution I will fix this and update this again.

(Edit): If someone else was going to build this all you would do is bolt the plate on from the other side, So the plate would be threaded rather than the strut. But because the plate is already drilled to clearance on the bolt it is a little harder than that. So not a problem for future conversions. Just a problem for me. lol

Apart from that all I need is some brake lines and another part of the ute can be painted up and put away.
I hope this has contained some useful information.
Cheers guys,
Dave.

I sure hope you're not studying engineering- you have taken the longest route to a mediocre brake setup........

Stanza is more than capable for street use. Anything else is driving illegally and /or a wank.

DBA730 plus Hilux/Landcruiser is more than adequate for racing.

#### off mate, go be a dickhead somewhere else. This braking system will indeed be more than adequate for the street when driven to legal limits, but so are most standard modern car setups. And I have said before I got the disks and calipers for free, and almost the only cost has been for around 30 bucks in steel thats damn cheap in anyones books.
This setup increaes track width only 2.5mm alot less than the stanza upgrade does. And with the guard rub issues I was already having with standard track this was a big factor that had to be considered, and aside from a few MINOR setbacks this has been a relatively simple process.

And yes I am studying engineering, with STUDYING being the key word. For those of you that dont know this means I am still learning things. If this was the wrong conversion for my application then so be it. I have learnt a ####load during the conversion process and at the end of the day I ended up with a system that I can say that I adapted myself.

If you have some constructive feedback I would be more than pleased to hear it. Otherwise just shutup and leave this thread to those people that actually might find it intersting or even helpful, Cheers

Dave

wait a minuto ... isn't stanza mean swapping the entire strut ass.? if so, then dweebo misses the point entirely

I hope you are talking about him.

Sorry guys for the rant but it just pisses me off when people get up in my face about #### that really doesnt concern them at all.

Your work looks great. I may be doing this soon.
Keeping the 1200 strut is a good thing - I'll bet its lighter than the stanza setup.
