Throttle bodies would be my choice every time, as long as they were at least the same size as the webers they are compared to.

Some of the benefits of using throttle bodies with injection -
Not so critical to keep the air speed up at low revs, which means you can run a larger size throttle.
Also with injection it inherintly allows for a 'bigger' cam to be used.

Yeah, my car. It made about 5KW more at the wheels but not a real noticable difference in driving power.. it was smooth though. NOTE: Quads can be a little hard to tune and stay tuned.

We use twin 45's. The engine used to have a large flat spot on every left hander, then we had it dyno tuned and now it doesn't matter what rpm or corner where in. It's turned me from 'needing' efi to 'can't be bothered' with the expense and time.

You say he gained some torque and lost power. It sound to me like he simply moved his torque curve lower in the rpm range. Race engines in particular are very dependant on the correct length, diameter and taper of the inlet and exhaust ports/manifolds. If he used the exact same figures, then efi offers a very small advantage of having no venturi hanging out into the breeze and is easier to tune. Other then that I don't think there's a great deal to be gained over a properly setup twin webber configuration.

minnesh, my experience with throttle bodies is all good, I was in a situation a few years back where I had the choice of buying a new set of webers or fuel injection.

I'm running a Haltech computer and EFI t/bodies. Personally I would never go back to carby's.

I have recently put an O2 sensor on the car and am now doing my own data log tuning.

When tuning carby's yourself I'm sure alot of you will relate to driving the car around and stopping - make an adjustment (change a jet) - more driving - more stopping - more driving etc, now... I hook up the laptop, a mate sits beside me and we drive around doing real time tuning with the data log function ie. data log a good 1 minute squirt on the road, analyse and adjust while we drive around.

I'm only using fuel and ignition so its very easy to get a good tune.

By the time I added up the cost of the Webers & jets or for those that don't know how to tune carby's that will probably mean dyno time, compared to the fuel injection cost I obviously went for injection.

The motor run beautifully and smooth and starts easy.

My motor has terrific mid range torque and when you hit 5000rpm it goes like a cut snake, I had the rev limiter on 8500rpm but with this new cam I have since moved that to 9500rpm.

I think why it run so good is because of the fuel injection.

Hi Minnesh I had 45 webbers for some time but now have coverted to Jenvey 45mm quods. I gained some extra power but the drivability out of corners has been great.
