CA18DET Vacuum lines - which do I need?

As I was just about to drop the engine in, I noticed this vacuum line around the back of the motor, does anyone know what it does? where it goes?

Got me think there are a bunch of vacuum lines missing, I'm not sure if they're important too.

Flicked through the FSM and sniffed around on google without luck.

Anyone got a diagram of all the vacuum lines in a CA18DET RWD, what they do and where they go?

mines disconnected aswell, motor runs fine without it though

edit: would also like to know what it was for?

Mate it's one of lines used for the polution gear and 8 port head control system.
see diagram. Most people remove the system in total.

that diagram is very hard to interpret hey, maybe its just me. i have a heap of vacuum hoses plugged up, i would love to know whether what ive done is correct or not. theres so much stuff that gets taken off a CA when it gets put into a datto, is there a diagram or experienced opinion as to what is correct?

my ute has been running for over a year now the way it is and its pretty quik, but i have always been curious about the vacuum lines.

Hey mcgee what manual is this diagram in?

I've got the S13 engine manual and it's not in that, I'd like to look into what all the part numbers mean....but this definitely helps, thanks.

Its not from the Workshop manual its part of the IPB (intergrated Parts Breakdown).
These numbers would be the ones nissan uses to order spare parts with.

It's the best diagram ive found to explain the vacumm system for the 8 port JDM heads.

My understanding is that by default the ports are open, these close when the engine is not making boost (ie Vacumm from the manifold). Therefore as long as you have pluged the lines and run a vacumm line to the Fuel pressure regulator you won't notice high RPM power loss but theoretically you will loose torque at low load/RPM.

It's pretty easy to see where they all go with the engine out of the car. Like what mcgee said, the only important ones are the fuel pressure reg and the diaphragm that controls the inlet port butterflies. I redid mine by just running a hose off the little hose fitting on the back of the manifold and then T-piece'd it to the two fittings and that's all. The bunch of solid hoses around the inlet manifold can be ignored after that.
