j15 engine had forged rods and other goodies. Does anyone know by inches calculations if the rods fit an a15???? hey dd can u help or stirling old mac??(just kidding) itll make some awesome savings on new forged bits.
The j12 crank might be a beauty for an a10 stroker. Does anyone know if the j15 will do the same if it has 5 mains?. The alloy radiator seems a beast.
Double valve springs on a stocky thats not fair and water sealed dizzy just right for wet rallye runs
Check out the h190 all alloy carrier its bigger than 2ltr bluebird ones and the fairlady h190 has an interchangeable LSD.

J cranks came in 3 and later in 5 main bearings as listed in many datsun historical sites. Which year they turned to 5 is not clear. At 77.5mm stroke for the j13 and j15 and bore at 73-78 even the a10 with its 3 main bearings could see a future to 1500cc and being forged could handle big hp like the mini a-series strokers. 1480cc mini a-stroker 154hp with 3 mains are common. Theres also a later j16 and surprise surprise Mexico's "datsun samurai" got a j18 from 81-97 and that crank is 5 mains as well and about 88-90 mm stroke.

Crazy fact: The Mexican Datsun samurai came with factory twin 40mm Dellortos!!!!!!!
try a text search in link: http://www.digest.net/alfa/archive/v7/msg02776.html

Would make a beaut stroker 1740cc turbo a15 engine with the 79mm bore.

More info needed please help someone.
Theres a j13 bluebird 68 model Im about to strip at the wreckers nearby but there are measurements in inches of bearing sizes on the net I cant work out.
1200rc do you know what year that ute was??
Id love to be able to stroke my a10 and my a15 with cheap nissan forged steel cranks that are otherwise going to disappear in wreckers throughtout the world.
Need more bloodhounds searching the web and contacting anyone old dude who knows about them before they die of old age and the possibility of the J cranked a-series vanishes. Just type "J15" or other j16, j18 and see what happens.

Sorry D I don't know much about the interchangability of J series parts. I know the pistons used to get put in A series to get bigger capacities before the A14s and A15s were produced. As for the crank you would have to compare the bore spacing for a start to see if it's the same sort of length as the A's. Any oversize engines I have experienced have had custom pistons and welded or custom cranks. On the piston problem I remember guys using forged motorcycle pistons to build screamer 1300cc A series. I am scratching here but I think they were Honda ones. But I guess those parts would be vintage now too!!

Ok Ill have to finnish my 1000 to show it off with the manifold.
If you see a homer van (datsun) let me know cause it has a j16.
Ill pull the j13 crank out soon and see if it works.
By the way the head I pulled off has dble valve springs!!!!
