sorry i dont understand what you mean?? an r31 diff into a 1200 poses some problems setting up the handbrake as the brake pull is backwards and forwards as apposed to inwards on the original diff.

get the original r31 handbrake cables, attatch them to the calipers and then see what needs to be done to them to get them both pointing at the original handbrake cable

think shorten one lengthen the other and them make a bar between the 2 that attatches to the original cable off the body

never got around to it on mine coz i didnt have r31 cables to use

yerr get all the bits from the r31, including the cable joiner, i'll have my diff out of my car soon, i'll take some pics for you, my calipers are on the front, not the back, cables go back and i welded a bracket onto the diff to hold the cables. Will make more sense when i get some piccy's up.

Here's a pic of my setup.....

Yep, you need all the bits from a R31 setup.

Had a local trailer spare parts mob make up the cables to my requirements, then it was just a matter of machining a piece of 1" x 1" angle iron to suit the cable ends.

Hope this helps.

Hey Coops,
I'm not sure what the bit is called, but in your picture it's the bit on top of the axle with the u-bolts hooking over it. I'm putting my diff (R31) in at the moment and of course the old aforementioned bits are the wrong diameter. What bits did you use/what are they off?

Cheers.

Purple Jim, they are the bump stops. You can get them in a few sizes to suit the diameter of the axle tube, try global or repco etc. Hope that helps.
