between the sr20de and the ca18det which has better acceleration off the mark??
and which one has the better top end speed??

depends on alot of diffrent stuff champ depends on what gears ur running in ur diff what box alot of diffrent things .. im running a short ratio diff which means ill have a quick off the mark time but down the freeway she wont cruze as good as some 1 with diffrent gears. .

put it this way i had a silvia s13 sr20de and a slivia s13 ca18det both 5 speed man and both standard the ca18det would #### on the sr20 all day long wat eva the speed / off the mark . they both have speed limiters at 180kmh so after that i cant say but i would say hands down ca18det

Either one will deliver performance figures that can get you arrested & your car confiscated, but the CA engine is more widely used & you can buy install kits for it.

a standard ca18det has virtually no lag in low gears so it would kill an sr20de

The SR may have 200cc more capacity than the CA but at one bar boost the CA is effectively doubling its capacity to 3.6 litres.

Regarding top speed, I dont think I would want to be in a Datto going flat out with either of those engines, at the end of the day its a Datsun 1200 not a Porsche.
