What are peoples thoughts on using a single leaf to locate the diff housing and use a coilover shock?

With a single Leaf you need to control torque reaction from the diff winding up the spring on acceleration , So it still comes back to some type of linkange set to control this or other methods like Half leaves in the spring pack , if you look at most new Jap Cab Chassis live axle leaf spring utes ,, they place one shock in front of the diff and one shock behind the diff to Help control the Torque reaction of the Diff .

Isn't it funny how so many threads start with people asking a question and then disappearing? Is this why a lot of the really knowledgable guys on this site don't often bother replying?

I was offended by that nzdatman, not everyone is on the computer everyday, some of us have a socail life.
Anyway back to the forum, am going to be using the car for street and curcit. Wil be running a 13B Turbo. Have a mate that will be doing the swap over to a 4link for me, as this is a whole make over for the coupe. My mate just wanted to do some research on the 4link before he does the crossover. But if anyone has anymore help or suggestions on this topic, it is always appreciated.

the JTS springs are by far the best way to go...4 bar link will not give any gains over the special JTS leafs.
I have them in my coupe and the rear end is fantastic on the car. No tramp excellent stability.
If you are going down this path and want to do it anyway go for an IRS setup out of an Impreza or something that has good ratios, is strong, and will be woth the time and effort.
For track and strip, the leafs are all you need. Especially with a 13B turbo nottoo much torque there

When datsun.co.nz is back online go have a look there in the members rides and project thread under Quinn's thread. There are lots of pics of his set up. (I think)

ok sexcbum calm down no offence was intended it's just that a lot of people do tend to join, ask one or two questions then bugger off never to be seen again. There is a LOT of good info on this site but searching for it can be tricky.
If you happened to be at the track on the weekend there was an extremely quick and tidy coupe there running a nice 4 link rear end. It might pay to poke your nose under the odd car like that before you start. If you're not hell bent on the four link you could always try the JTS springs, there's always more than one way of skinning a cat.
