I think you old boys are living in the past. This is a very clean KB10 and old classics are pulling good dollars these days
At last someone is thinking clearly.
The KB10 was only ever sold in Japan & Australia so they are a future collector classic, particularly in other parts of the world.
They were made for only 15 to 18 months.
They are the first of the small Datsuns & being only ever made in RHD they are unique in the B10 world as all other models were made in LHD as well.
Hell, they didn't even sell them in Okinawa, which is part of Japan.
Good examples are hard to find & I don't know how hard it would be to replicate this car, but to do it properly would cost at least that much.
I know how much mine has cost & the paint job will eat up a sizeable chunk of that figure alone.
When assessing the value of a car, have a think about the big picture & in the case of selected small Datsun models, the rarity & desirability factor will ensure that they only appreciate in value into the future, as long as the body shell is somewhere between very good & perfect.
If this one fits in here, then I don't think that the price is outragous at all.
If all one wants is a cheap POS to abuse, then buy a Ute.
