Hey DD, you can absolutely give mine a drive when i get it finished! Hopefully in a few months it'll be painted.

as far as adhesive remover 3M makes some specific for decals, fake woody trim emblems, pin striping, etc...Try this, shouldn't damage the paint at all.

I'm actually going down to LA in a few weeks to pick up a truck, 99 Dodge Ram w/a Cummins diesel in it, only 20K on it. I could of thrown yours in the bed & hauled it back for ya! Probably wouldn't of affected the fuel mileage much either!

speaking of fuel mileage what did you get on the way up here with those duals? Are they 40's?

congrats again!

Thanks EDP. I got about 22 mpg ... the carbs ran perfect the day I bought it, but the next day (while driving home) not so good.

I think they are 44mm (PH44). Says "Solex Mikuni" on the tops of the carbs. Every Japanese classified says "Solex" I guess they are the most popular over there. Well, Mikuni was the Nissan Competition brand so it must be OK.

Leo, I remember when you told me about the ex-Nissan yellow/gold pickup that was for sale out of Arizona. That got me seriously planning to buy one.... way back in Dec 2003.

wow, I'd say 22mpg with dual 44's is pretty good considering. so if i can manage to get the dual 40 webers on mine it ought to do even better then that I'd think.

so based on the placement of the duals in the ute can you tell if duals will clear the MC on the sedan with or w/o the air cleaner on the rear carb?

No way. It barely clears on the RHD. But you can move the Master Cylinder to under the dash.

Here's another Road Fix. The muffler nut fell off and banged around on the shock, on the driveshaft, etc. I had those zip ties I bought to fix the license plate with.

My first two attempts with Zips, the muffler fell off again the next time I stopped. After three tries with the Zip Ties, I got a semi-temporary fix. It only rubbed against the driveshaft sometimes ...

are there any examples of a "how to" article of the clutch MC mounted under the dash on the site here or in the wiki ?

I'd like to check out this option. Mines at the point where I could do it if I wanted to.

No 'how to', but some very general information. See
* Remote Clutch Master Cylinder
* Remote Brake Cylinder

Sunny Truck/ute/bakkie has a clutch cable, no clutch cylinder needed. LHD 1200 pickups i expect will have a clutch cylinder system.
