I have a Datsun 1200 Ute.
Can someone plz tell me exactly how much longer the CA box is compared to the Stumpy?

Does anyone have any pics of shifter positions (especially in a ute) Of either box?.

A few people have told me the CA box is a better box - smoother, stronger. but, too long for the ute.

Any help would be great...

Cheers

the shifter will come up 50mm in front of the double thickness panel that the handbrake connects to.

How did you sort out the handbrake? Mount it further back?

in my sedan I moved the handbrake 5 inches backwards.
It meant drilling out spot welds for the mounting plates.

definately use the ca box mate. drop ure handbrake to the side of the tunnel close to the drivers seat (standard lever)

and once u got the box in remove the gear stick and turn it 180 degrees. puts the stick right where u want it. if u leave it on the standard backwards lean its a little too far back (for my liking anyways)

all the best mate

Thanks guys,
Seems CA is the way to go?!?!

What about tunnel size?

Was going to use a 180B tunnel with the stumpy box.
Probably going to use CA box now - A few good reports... Thankyou!

I am assuming I will still need the bigger tunnel? - What have you guy's done?

sooty_grunter - Have you got any interior pic's mate?
